Dolomit

About dolomite
Dolomite is a carbonate rock composed mainly of calcium and magnesium carbonates. It is generally soft to medium-hard and is processed into construction aggregate, industrial mineral feed and mineral powder.
Composition, density and strength vary by deposit. Hardness, abrasiveness, moisture and chemical composition should be confirmed before equipment is selected.
Recommended process
Vibrating feeder → Jaw crusher → Impact crusher → Vibrating screen → Finished fractions
The jaw crusher performs primary crushing of large pieces. The impact crusher reduces the material and improves particle shape, while the screen separates finished fractions and returns oversize in a closed circuit.
A VSI crusher may be added for 0–5 mm manufactured sand or improved shape. Mineral-powder production requires drying where necessary, followed by milling and classification.
Recommended equipment
Vibrating feeder — stable feeding
Jaw crusher — primary crushing
Impact crusher — secondary crushing and shaping
Cone crusher — alternative for harder or more abrasive dolomite
VSI crusher — manufactured-sand production
Vibrating screen — fraction separation
Mill and classifier — mineral-powder production
Belt conveyors — material transfer
Dust collection — control during crushing and milling
Typical products
0–5 mm — manufactured sand and fine material
5–10 mm — fine aggregate
10–20 mm — concrete and asphalt aggregate
20–40 mm — road-base material
Mineral powder — industrial applications
Important selection factors
Confirm maximum feed size, hardness, moisture, clay and fines content, chemical composition, required capacity and finished products. Quartz or other hard inclusions can increase abrasiveness and may change the recommended crusher.
Request a project solution
Send the required capacity, feed size, product sizes or powder fineness and site conditions. Tanker will prepare an appropriate dolomite-processing configuration.
