Mineral Grinding and Powder Production Line

About this solution

This line dry-grinds limestone, dolomite, gypsum, calcite, travertine and other suitable non-metallic minerals to a controlled fineness. The mill, classifier, air circuit and dust collection are selected for the feed and final powder requirements.

Project parameters

• Capacity: 5–50 t/h

• Process: pre-crushing, storage, metered feeding, grinding, classification and collection

• Mill type: Raymond, MTW, vertical or ball mill, according to the project

• Product fineness: according to the selected equipment and market requirement

About the solution

Mill selection depends on product fineness, hourly capacity, feed hardness, moisture and abrasiveness. Closed-air-circuit Raymond and MTW systems are used for many dry non-metallic minerals. A ball mill may be required for a different material, fineness or process duty and must be treated as a separate circuit. These options should not be mixed into one universal configuration.

Process flow

1. A jaw or hammer crusher prepares large feed to the size accepted by the selected mill.

2. A bucket elevator lifts material to a storage hopper.

3. A feeder meters material evenly into the mill.

4. Rollers and a grinding ring, or another selected mechanism, reduce the material.

5. Air carries powder to a classifier; coarse particles return for further grinding.

6. A cyclone and bag filter collect the finished powder before storage or packing.

Mill-selection criteria

• Feed hardness, moisture and abrasiveness

• Maximum feed size and pre-crushing requirement

• Required fineness and particle-size distribution

• Hourly capacity and operating schedule

• Product storage, packing and dust-control requirements

Wet or sticky feed may require drying. Food, pharmaceutical or high-purity products need separate material selection and hygienic design; a standard mineral line must not be presented as automatically suitable for those duties.

Applications

• Limestone and dolomite powder

• Dry grinding of gypsum and calcite

• Mineral filler for construction materials

• Other non-metallic minerals supported by testing

Information required for final engineering

Provide chemical composition, hardness, moisture and abrasiveness, feed size, required fineness or sieve residue, hourly capacity, final use, packing method and available electrical and thermal energy.
