Granit

About granite
Granite is a hard igneous rock composed mainly of quartz, feldspar and mica. Its strength makes it suitable for concrete and asphalt aggregate, road base, railway ballast and other construction products.
Because granite is hard and abrasive, wear parts are heavily loaded. A cone crusher is therefore usually more efficient and economical than an impact crusher in the secondary stage.
Recommended process
Vibrating feeder → Jaw crusher → Hydraulic cone crusher → Vibrating screen → Finished fractions
The feeder supplies granite steadily. The jaw crusher performs primary crushing, while the cone crusher reduces the material in secondary and, when required, tertiary stages. The screen separates finished fractions and returns oversize for further crushing.
A VSI crusher can be installed after the cone-crushing stage when improved particle shape or 0–5 mm manufactured sand is required.
Recommended equipment
Vibrating feeder — controlled feeding and removal of fines
Jaw crusher — primary crushing of large granite
Hydraulic cone crusher — secondary crushing of hard, abrasive material
VSI crusher — shaping and manufactured-sand production
Vibrating screen — fraction separation
Belt conveyors — continuous transfer
Typical products
0–5 mm — manufactured sand and fine construction material
5–10 mm — fine concrete and asphalt aggregate
10–20 mm — concrete, asphalt and precast aggregate
20–40 mm — road base and general construction aggregate
Important selection factors
Confirm required capacity, maximum feed size, finished fractions, real hardness and abrasiveness, moisture and fine-material content. Wear-part grade, dust suppression and the required cubical shape should be included in the final design.
