About river pebble
River pebble is a naturally rounded stone valued for its high hardness, strength and wear resistance. It is widely processed into quality aggregate and manufactured sand for concrete, roads, railways, bridges and hydraulic works.
Typical reference properties include Mohs hardness of 6–8, density of about 2.60–2.75 t/m³ and compressive strength of approximately 120–300 MPa. Actual properties must be confirmed from the project material.
Recommended process
Vibrating feeder → Jaw crusher → Cone crusher → Vibrating screen → Optional VSI crusher → Optional sand washer → Finished products
The jaw crusher performs primary reduction of large pebbles. Because river pebble is abrasive, a cone crusher is normally preferred for secondary and tertiary crushing. The screen separates saleable fractions and returns oversize in a closed circuit.
A VSI crusher can be added when a more cubical aggregate or 0–5 mm manufactured sand is required. Washing is useful when the feed contains clay or excess fines; the project must also provide water recycling and settling capacity.
Recommended equipment
Vibrating feeder — stable feeding
Jaw crusher — primary crushing
Hydraulic cone crusher — efficient secondary crushing of abrasive stone
VSI crusher — aggregate shaping and manufactured sand
Vibrating screen — accurate fraction separation
Sand washer — removal of clay and excess fines
Belt conveyors — continuous material transfer
Typical products
0–5 mm — manufactured sand
5–10 mm — fine aggregate
10–20 mm — concrete and asphalt aggregate
20–40 mm — road base and infrastructure aggregate
Important selection factors
Confirm maximum feed size, actual hardness and abrasiveness, moisture, clay and natural-fines content, required capacity, finished fractions and the availability of water. Wear-part selection and closed-circuit screening are especially important for this abrasive material.
